The auction date is a pre-season event, not the start of IPL 2027. The match schedule will identify opponents, stadiums and times in IST once fixtures are published. The auction page covers the separate player recruitment timetable.
IPL 2027 retention and released players
The BCCI has extended the IPL 2027 retention deadline from 15 November to 17 November 2026, giving all 10 franchises two extra days to finalise their retained and released players. The mini auction remains scheduled for 16 December 2026 in Goa. Complete team lists are still awaited, so reported release candidates are not confirmed departures.
IPL 2027 is a mini auction season. The six player retention and Right to Match framework associated with the 2025 mega auction is not a six player limit for this mini auction’s squad decisions. Teams can keep a much larger part of their existing group within the squad rules.

IPL 2027 auction date and Goa venue
The IPL 2027 mini auction is scheduled for December 16 in Goa. The BCCI’s November 2 communication retained the auction date and venue while extending the retention deadline to November 17. Player registration closes on November 23, with the final auction register and player sets scheduled for December 3.

Confirmed IPL 2027 player trades
Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad have completed a four-player trade for IPL 2027. Liam Livingstone (₹6 crore) and Jack Edwards (₹3 crore) join CSK, while Khaleel Ahmed (₹4.8 crore) and Nathan Ellis (₹2 crore) move to SRH. Livingstone’s fee falls from ₹13 crore to ₹6 crore. Hardik Pandya remains a Mumbai Indians player despite advanced trade discussions with Punjab Kings. Arshdeep Singh and Vishnu Vinod have been mentioned in the proposed exchange, while Rajasthan Royals remain another reported possibility. IPL 2027 schedule and first match

IPL 2027 coaching changes at Mumbai, Chennai and Delhi
Mumbai Indians name four coaches under Kieron Pollard
Mumbai Indians announced Robin Uthappa as batting coach, Mitchell McClenaghan as bowling coach, T Dilip as fielding coach and Dhawal Kulkarni as development bowling coach on 30 October. They join head coach Kieron Pollard following the departures of Mahela Jayawardene, Lasith Malinga, Paras Mhambrey and Carl Hopkinson. Chennai Super Kings add Morkel, Batty and Mohit
Albie Morkel and Gareth Batty have joined Chennai Super Kings as assistant coaches, with Mohit Sharma appointed bowling coach under Zaheer Khan. Sridharan Sriram remains an assistant coach, while James Foster continues as fielding coach. Surrey confirmed Batty’s move on 26 October. His announced position is assistant coach, not a separately designated replacement for former batting coach Michael Hussey. Delhi Capitals assign separate pace and spin coaches
Delhi Capitals have Sourav Ganguly as head coach and Yuvraj Singh as assistant and batting coach. Chaminda Vaas will work with the fast bowlers, while Amit Mishra takes charge of spin bowling.
